I checked in our local shop www.gme.sk , AT89S8253-24PU is currently for 3.6 Euro and hundreds on stock in Prague (OK 0 in Bratislava but we are really at the end of the world) and available also in other packages; the only P89LPC9xx - which they introduced just a couple of weeks ago - is P89LPC922FN for 1.5 Euro.
