But you're asking for trouble, on this forum, with an 8255 on your board...
not really, without a ground plane (let alone not 4 layers) it has to run so darn slow that including another reason for slow speed will not hurt much.

If you stay in the past in one respect, you may as well be consistent and do it throughout.
