This is used just as a port expander. But has its own protocol. This is basically used for M&C for varies device in earth station, where all the monitoring devices such as modem, modem protection switch, RFT, RFT protection switch, BER tester, spectrum analyser, LNA,SSPA,bla,bla,bla....... (about 14 to 26 devices) are monitored through the Network Management System (software) from a single pc.

Lance, there is already one such port expander that we have developed. But this can communicate to one device (port) at a time.
