Re OO in assembly: there is absolutely nothing wrong with a main loop passing objects by statements such as "IF_mailbox_6_has_the_flag_up (read_and_process_type_6_mail)". Many RTOS for the '51 uses such a process. OO is not C++, C++ just happens to be OO friendly.
