#133259 - Understood, good point. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As always, Erik, you pose a valid point. I will certainly check that just to be absolutely sure.
The device was designed and put into production in 1993 or so. With no changes to software or hardware we started to experience this crosstalk issue in 2003. Replacing the 'leaky' LED fixed the unit in question. When we noticed the issue we were seeing a large number of units that had the crosstalk issue, so I build a fixture for testing. +V--- resistor arrayx8----dipswitchx8-------segments------Gnd We started grading the LEDs and reporting back to the Mfr. The quality was bad enough we started buying old stock (early date codes) from a broker. And then Fairchild sold off the product line. Hopefully HP-Agilent-Avago is just better stuff. I hope to have some units to test in a week or so. (there is a note on their site about qualifying a new supplier for LED products.....not sure if this is good news or bad) I appreciate all your input guys! Bob |
