There is no such thing as a good editor in freeware. You will save the investment many times over if you buy CodeWright. If you are a student/amateur you might as well use one of the Microsoft editors such as EDIT. I have, on occasion used EDIT (stuck at a customer, have to make a small change) and it is not too bad for basic editing.
