Larry, I think it really depends on the number of units being shipped. I have a feeling that most of the people here are designing products in very low volume, in which case a single sourced part doesn't matter much. In my previous workplace, we typical sold around 800,000 units per month and I can tell you from experience that single sourced parts is a MAJOR headache. I have no experience with Cygnal, but I would never select a single source part, if your volume is high. |
