I wouldn't take it personally if I were you. I don't believe it's about you specifically... and if nothing else, if you don't get answers here (which is what you are looking for, right?), you can always look elsewhere.
My guess is Erik doesn't know you personally, nor do you know him, right? If he said you were ugly and your mother dressed you funny because you forgot to use an IRET at the end of your interrupt routine, you'd probably laugh, right? One thing I've learned about discussion boards: opinions are like noses - everybody has one... Some people are true teachers - some are true critics - and some just stir things up to get others to think, or because it makes them feel good. Whatever the input to the discussion; if it helps you, use it...if it doesn't answere your question, rephrase it...and if it doesn't pertain to you or your thoughts, ignore it... There are a lot of smart people here, with lots of background in lots of different areas, and eventually one of them will read your message, and respond.
