Although this will not help Mr. Bergh problem... i regularly write and execute MS-DOS serial programs (for a ANSI Console front end to 805X and other devices) within the Win2000 client os. I haven't tried "Server" yet.
You can validate this by running a copy of DOS Procomm which will run fine. You do have to set the idle sensitivity to zero. There are some other proviso's that are based upon your implementation (i.e. if you use a modem, it should not be a "HAM" type and it should have a MS certified driver as MS runs them in Ring0 (sadly). regards, p |
