Suggestion:
Keep it away from the spark plugs, unless that is what you are trying to sense. Spark plugs will inductively couple into any parallel wire. Also, use protection on the input signal, at least a zener diode, resistor, capacitor, etc, then some signal conditioning to make it digital again for the 8051 input. |
