If your crystal oscillator is topographically intimate, a series resistor isn't required. If your oscillator is at some distance from the DS'4x0 then perhaps you see or suspect "ringing". A series resistor is one classic way to reduce reflections which at 33MHz are not unlikely with poor termination. Check out Series Termination" Think carefully are you sure you didn't set the Clock Multiplier between now when it last worked? regards, p |
