#139321 - It Depends..... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
on whether OP is trying to design a Parking Barrier itself or is trying to use a Parking barrier to implement a Parking Control system. I , of course, assumed that he is trying to implement an application.
The Parking barrier that I used in an application had the following mechanism: A light weight arm is controlled through a motor. The motor is turned ON in one direction for a fixed amount of time and turned OFF. Motor also gets turned OFF if a limit switch closes. This operation would open the barrier. After a fixed timeout, the motor is run in the reverse direction for a fixed duration and is also controlled by another limit switch. If there is an obstructon to the arm during it's movement, the arm is held up and arm movement will resume after obstruction is removed( as the arm is loosely coupled to the motor through a belt). The request for opening the barrier is given through a) a TTL signal, or b)A Voltage input. There is no control to close the parking barrier. KG |
