#139653 - Need mcu suggestions |
Hello folks
I want to use a 8051 mcu for a project. Probably I will need 128k of flash memory. So here are my question: 1. Which mcu should I choose? I`limited with platforms. I use FreeBSD, Linux, and FreeDOS. No Windows, so the mcu should be ISP programmable on those platforms. I will use SDCC which runs smooth on Linux and FreeBSD. 2. Is it possible to use a mcu with smaller flash (like 8k) and to expand the flash memory with a memory chip? I have a AT89s52 at home with 8k flash, and here is a programmer software that "maybe" works for me. http://www.nongnu.org/uisp/ |
