#142061 - Some problems Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The 6522/32 VIA uses the E as a clock source for the timers. At a pinch you could connect 8052 !WR to VIA R/!W then gate your select logic with !RD and !WR to get a high going E signal for the bus cycle. Then you'd need to analyse your setup and hold times to make sure both chips are happy. Personally, I'd be choosing a larger micro with the required amount of port pins or looking at other ways of implementing your i/o, say with i2c i/o expanders or serial shift registers/parallel latches etc. BTW, I think the VIA is obsolete - I'm not sure who still makes it. I'd leave the 6522 along with the 8255 back in history. |
