I 100% agree to evaualte the register of flags for its value, but,

1. No need to suggest here since it would make things terrible for Irfan who didn't even have the idea of single bit flags and their use.

2. By evaluating the register for flags means you have to test the value for more than two values (or many many vlaues) to test a single flag.

I don't think that's a practical idea.
