I am using a 3354D, which is almost the same as what you are looking at. I have done nothing with power supply sequencing, you just need to have two different supply voltages.

Beware that most functions( ADC, PWM, etc) use the 3.3V as their reference voltage. That burned me a little.

Other than that, I have had little chip issues.
