You haven't said what compiler you're using, and you haven't shown your definition of "WORD" - but what well-known binary value springs to mind at "around 30000"...?

Note that "WORD" is a particularly unhelpful name, as it gives no indication of wheter it's signed or not, nor how many bits it has...
