there is always a readymade hardware available from Dallas, the TINI board. And with 50$ it seems not too expensive. Unfortunately it seems impossible to order or get support outside the USA.

There is also planned the DS80C400 with internal Ethernet controller and also possible to download your 8051 code over Ethernet after power on.
