What is a 'linear data output' and where/when is it used? Such a 434MHz receiver contains a lot of analog electronics to amplify and demodulate the signal. You can usullay find (differs from brand to brand, of course) a SAW-filter, a LNA (low noise amplifier), a down converter, a monolithic crystal filter, a quad detector and finally a slicer or comparator to generate a clean digital signal. The linear data output provides the signal of some analog pre-stage. Which, has to be defined in datasheet (usually the input signal of slicer). The linear data output can be used to detect the signal strength of HF or to interpret the signal quality. Kai |
