#147976 - This is NOT an 8051-based laptop! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
For the avoidance of doubt, Before anyone gets the idea that this is a laptop PC using an 8051 as its main processor - or takes it as the basis for suggesting such a thing - it most certainly is not!

The EC hardware consists of the ENE KB3700, which has a 8051 microprocessor at it's (sic) core ... The EC, implemented as a KB3700, has a paramount importance in controlling the XO when the CPU is not active
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Embedded_controller We are just talking about the "Emmbedded Controller" (EC) within the laptop - not its main CPU! The main processor of this laptop is a 433MHz AMD Geode LX-700 - see: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Hardwa...lectronics |
