Then get two coloured highlighter pens.
Use one colour to highlight the Definitions in your two files, and the other colour to highlight the Declarations.

Then check the rule:
  • Symbols may be declared many times;

  • Symbols must be defined exactly once.


    • This is absolutely fundamental stuff - you really need to get a firm grip on this, or you will continue to flounder!
