#150123 - LCD driven by 8032? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Derek,
does this mean that you have two '51s in your application - one running BASIC52, second driving the LCD? Sounds very interesting! Do your extensions utilise the "user tokens", or did you modify the "#"-suffixed commands (like ). If you used the token extension mechanism, how do you pass parameters? I was doing several small modifications to the v1.4/RD2 on request to somebody, based on what circulates as BASIC52 v1.3 (the Elektor version) - if I remember correctly it was related to I2C - and found out that the author of v1.3 had to modify some of the builtin routines to facilitate parameter passing to and from the "extended commands" (and he did it in quite a cumbersome way, requiring parameters not in parentheses as expected, but in some other weird form). Pity the original BASIC had to be squeezed into 8kB of ROM, the authors were quite inventive and they might've implemented several other useful things if they would not struggle for space. Jan Waclawek PS. Yes, the efton.sk site that's me. |
