#152039 - Once I have seen... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
First of all, power everything coming in direct contact to human body only by a battery!!!
Once I have seen a heart beat data logger, which looked like a match box with four contacts at each corner. I guess, that an electronics is sitting inside measuring the potential difference between some of the contacts, digitizing them by the help of ADC and storing them in a battery backed-up CMOS RAM. This little machine starts the data logging when pressing a micro switch. About 20 seconds can be stored. Afterwards, your doctor can connect the matchbox to a personal computer via RS232 interface (you see, this thingy is a bit older...) and can analyze the heart beat by the help of professional software. This device can be used by patients, who suffer from cardiac arrhythmias. Whenever an heart attack occurs, he presses the matchbox against the chest directly over the heart and starts the data logging by pressing the micro switch. The doctor then has a good chance to detect the special kind of cardiac arrythmia. The software of this thingy is simple data logging and data transmission code. Kai |
