#152688 - To Jon Ledbetter: time for maintenance-RS232 guide
Dear Jon,

I just downloaded a fresh copy of your reference RS-232 guide, and would like to ask you a few changes and corrections:

  • please, update the link on page 3 for Bray's terminal
  • please, add a link on the same page for the current development version of Tera Term (the original link is still valid and the original version can be still useful, as the new one is rather big and extensive and potentially overcomplicated)
  • you might perhaps want to add a link to the recent thread on the abovementioned terminal programs, where + and - of them were discussed
  • please, review the schematics on page 11. The presented connection is DTE-style, but than the DB9 should have been Male - in DCE (modem), where DB9F is used, pin 3 is where the data go from DTE (PC) to DCE (modem), and pin 2 is where data go from DCE (modem) to DTE (PC)(I don't want to use RxD and TxD as they are very very misleading in this context).

Thanks.

Jan Waclawek
