Are you saying you want to convert a byte value, eg, 0xA5, to the ASCII characters 'A' and '5'?

The simplest way is probably to use a lookup table on each nibble.

I've got an ASCII table at http://www.8052.com/users/awneil/charset.gif (actually, it's the IBM-PC extended character set, but they're the same for the printable codes up to 127)
