This is what I do when, after a hour soldering, my 80C535-board, doesn't work.
Check the 5 volt powersupply. Check if 5 volts is on all IC's. Check with a scope if the oscillator is running, I checked it on the condensator around the Xtal. I got a high frequency wave-form. Check with a scope on the 74HCT573 pin 2 (ALE). If the processor is running you should have a wave here. Check with a scope on the 74HCT00 pin 12 (PSEN).
