Some opto isolators can be used in a linear mode - so the current being measured is sampled by the emitter part of the opto, and the output of the receiver part is proportional.
Then you can do all your A/D & 8052 stuff on the isolated side. Have a search though some opto isolator datasheets & Application Notes; eg HP (or whatever they're called these days) |
