#156311 - Few guidelines Responding to: ???'s previous message |
VERY IMP** The First thing you should look is what your development tools vendor recommends. There are many flavours of Linux, but the tools vendor can test and verify the working of tools only on a few of common Linux platforms. Rest almost every linux system will work same as far as using development tools is concerned(This point is not very true as there are factors like kernel version, library versions in linux which can effect the working). Below are few options to consider: 1. Monta Vista: good support, commercial, not free 2. RedHat: Free(commercial support is not free). Almost all tool vendors will give support for RedHat(if they provide support for Linux at all) 3. Suse: Same as RedHat, but there are less vendors who support Suse. I suggest you go for RedHat if your vendor have not specified any one. Regards |
