#157012 - Two blocks of Flash for P89v51 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
There is a "got ya".... with the P89v51,
There are to flash blocks... user code block 0 and bootloader block 1. On power up, the internals of P89v51 switch in block 1 (bootloader) and the last command in the bootloader is to switch back to block 0 and execute used code from 0x0000. The problem is with Parallel programmers , is erase all erases both block 0&1, hence the boot loader is erased. Good parallel programmers have very clear options warning you the bootloader may be erased.... but on the cheaper parallel programmers it 's a little unclear what to do for erasing just the user code.
