That is why I say that cooperative multitasking is problematic for C51 processors.

In my opinion, if you are trying to do cooperative multitasking with a '51 you have choosen the wrong procesor.

YES, it is possible to hammer a nail in with a shoe, but using a proper hammer is a better solution.

There is so much '51 stuff hanging around (OS, banking, RAM code, 82xx chips, ...) from the days when the '51 was the only economically viable solution for many applications it was never intended for. Now that an ARM does not cost a leg there is no excuse for wrestling the poor little bugger into doing things is is singularily unsuited for.

The '51 shares with many people I know that it is a delightful companion in its natural habitat but does turn ugly when outside it.
