Firstly I assume you mean the L297 and L298 chips.
To decide whether you can do 800 rpm you need to work out how many steps per second that is. How many steps per revolution does the motor have? Secondly you need to see whether you can turn the currents on and off that quickly, which is a function of winding inductance, supply voltage and driver design. In general, the torque drops as the step rate increases, so you need to decide how much torque you need at 800 rpm. Finally, the acceleration profile is important, and depends on the inertia of the load. What sort of load are you driving. |
