#158196 - IVR using GSM |
I need to have an IVR (interactive voice response) for a control panel to query parameters and faults. Control panel is in a remote area, and will have GSM/GPRS modem. There is a requirement to have an IVR using a controller/DSP in the panel to query the panel regarding status and parameters. PC is not allowed in the Panel. The spec says that the IVR must work over GSM should have a normal voice driven menu. IVR is one channel of accessing data from the panel( SMS and TCP/IP through GPRS are the other 2 channels required as per the spec). My knowledge on DTMF based IVR using controllers is below zero and I am pretty worried.
1. What is the best way to generate voice responses at the panel side? Recorded Voice chunks selected from a bank and played back or synthesizing voice from text? 2. Has anybody tried to receive DTMF input from GSM? I read from this forum that DTMF over GSM is tricky and it may not even be possible. But then some control panel suppliers are already doing it. Please guide... |
