#158917 - AppWebServer - on an 8051?! Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I have been spending lots of time on the AppWebServer site ( http://www.appwebserver.org/ )
Still a long way to go before I get a grasp on embedding the web server - they claim its pretty low (sic) on overheads. Beware that "embedded" covers a vast spectrum - and "low" is relative! Just because they put "embedded" in the title doesn't mean that it will be anywhere close to suitable for your particular embedded application! For example, AppWebServer.org said:
It is fast (over 3,500 HTTP requests per second) and compact (from 110 KB) So they are aiming this at applications where 110KB is considered "small" - which is clearly not the case for your C8051F020 target board!! And note that they say "from 110KB"; in other words, most cases will be larger than that - probably a lot larger. This is not intended as criticism of AppWebServer at all - it is up to you to read carefully, and determine whether any offering is even in the right ballpark for your application... |
