...the common mode voltage at the ADC input does not exceed Vref, nothing has to be changed. If it does, on the other hand, the clamp should be changed to an active clamp, limiting the signal to +AV (which is =Vdd usually). That is because the ADC accepts a common voltage range of up to +AV. Between Vref and +AV the shown clamp is already working, resulting in distortion and reading errors.
If you keep your input signals in the range -10V...+10V, nothing has to be changed. Kai |
