#16065 - RE: Cygnal 8051s, what's the difference?
Hello,
You get a SoC chip without external memory (32 or 64 KB of internal
Flash EPROM) internal RAM (2 or 4 KB) and lots of peripherals :
12 bits CAN and DAC, timers, etc... and a fine development system.

A card has only one Cygnal chip, RS232 interface and connectors !
The most important : an ICE is build in, with breakpoints and steps.
It communicates with a PC by a JTAG interface. A CMS chip is
difficult to emulate in-situ by a traditionnal probe.

If you have no facility to make CMS systems, the best situation is to
buy their development cards, without the JTAG interface. The price is
reduced by 50%.

The product is serious, with a true european electric supply, and not
an US one (the supply differs with localisation of customers).

Regards,

JM
