That is entirely the point: there is no such thing as "best" - it's just a case of which one most closely fits the specific requirements of the specific task at hand.

Personally I prefer the mixture of C and Assembler.

Exactly - because 'C' is better than assembler for some things, while assembler is better than 'C for others. Neither of them is an unqualified "best"
