You should check very carefully if programming the security and protection bits is something that is safe to actually do for your MCU while you are running actual code on the part. Sometimes these bits can change the run time environment and may result in unexpected or undesired behavior when your call to the IAP code interface routine routine returns to your program. I do not know your particular part so cannot offer direct advice other than to urge investigation and caution.
It may be that the manufacturer specified usage model for programming security bits is always meant to be done in the ISP mode. Michael Karas |
