If he is going to use a custom display with a PSP, it isn't unreasonable that he will want to use an external processor for handling the display, instead of trying to figure out if there are pins available inside the PSP that may be used.
At least I would slave off such functionality to a processor of my own, and see if I could use SPI, UART, USB or similar for communicating between main unit and display unit. |
