Ok Here's a few questions off the top:

1.)Are you setting XON/XOFF handshaking in hyperterminal?

2.)Doesn't the RTS line need to be held active in order to power-on the printer? Does hyperterminal provide you with this ability?

3.)Have you tried using the sample programs outlined in the Command reference? These appear to be Microsoft QUICKBASIC programs (Do a search on this) - I'd try this before going back to hyperterminal!



With all due respect, time should be set aside for final year projects. After all, this is when one gets to connect the dots in my humble opinion.
