As Erik already mentioned, directly interfacing a USB device requires USB host functionality (or at least USB2Go), which '51s usually don't have.
However, if your goal is merely to exchange data with a PC, you may want to look into using SD cards, MMC cards, or CF cards. They can be connected to a '51 (CF cards are a little more complex than the other two, since the require lots of pins), and can easily be read and written by a PC. |
