Most (all good) watchdogs require 2 writes to restart (reset is a misnomer). The actual codes to write and where to write them varies from derivative to derivative. If you use an extarnal dog, it is indeed one bit - very unsafe acuse it is possible/likely that code cone astrat will (re)set a bit.
