#17366 - RE: To Ungureanu Silviu |
Sorry for my late reply. I didn't notice your post earlier than today.
I don't know a specific URL concerned to connection between 8052 and modem. I read something here on 8052.com, but I don't remeber now where exactly. I'll look for you. If you drive the modem only for transmision, it's worthless to take care of RI signal. Only RTS, CTS, DTR DSR and CD are involved in handshaking. But you can talk to the modem with only RX, TX as software handshake. I've used one modem from Cermetek, CH2100 which don't require hardware handshake but I give up due to the low speed (2400 bps) not suitable for most of the ISP. Now I'm working with Connexant/Rockwell compatible from Multitech manufacturer MT5600SMI. Very reliable until now, no complains. Do not forget: I don't use level translation circuits, since I use embedded modem. I hope to post an user page until the end of first quarter 2002, an application which use two device talking peer to peer through dial up connection. It's under development now. However it's not big deal about ordinary connection between micro and modem using hardware handshake. If nobody will post a link here, I'll clean my code and send to you only the macro involved in modem connection. But if you look now in user page field you will notice some research concerned to subject. Regards, Silviu |
