I am NOT asking how to use it, as stated I have more than 5000 running, I just have had to replace abt 50 for spurious reset problems and was wondering if that was a brand specific problem. I have started using the MAX1232 instead and with 500 units/months it will be a while before I have statistical evidence. The .1uF capacitor (not my layout) is about 1/2" (1 cm) from the chip that should be close enough.
