The idea of the use of a microncontroller is to have everything built-in, like RAM, code memory, timers, watchdogs, oscillators, etc. So, the port lines of a micro are usually only strong enough to drive a few external chips. If you need to drive more, e.g. a big memory array with extended bus wiring, then you should add some bus drivers. Kai Klaas |
