#176041 - Baud RateTolerance? |
Hi,
Setting-up a serial port for a particular Baud rate often involves a small error. A given crystal frequency and calculated hardware re-load value may produce a Baud rate with a slight variation to that required. My question is, what is an acceptable percentage of error in Baud rate calculation, that may be used to establish the reliability in use, of a particular serial port set-up? I'm sure there is a long-winded technical explaination of how such a communications parameter may be derived, but I'm more interested in what works 100% in practice. What's your experience?
