I'm a newbie in de MC field too. (but I have experience in Engineering stuff).

I learned in my own experience that this forum has two types of members.

1.- Members who have a LOT of experience, vcause they work in this subject, or they have a lot of years with this as a hobby.

2.- Members who just ask plain "solve my problem questions"

A few months ago, I was on the No.2, but some member helped me in a very easy way, he told me: "do research!!, even if you don't know what are you looking for, and after that come back with more specific questions"

Now I'm not on the No. 1 member type, but also I'm not on the No. 2.

So I'm still researching, but now when I came back with a very basic questions (almost stupid), but with some fundaments, I found that a lot of expert members answer me, they give me clues in order to still researching , code samples, etc.

But ALWAYS you need to send source samples, specific questions, etc.

So answering your question, I suggest you try to do some research with the atmel 81 family, or the atmel avr family.
