First U need to Connect U’r
Microcontroller to LAN.I hope U use
Cat5 (Category 5) cable with RJ-45
connectors.
Well that’s what I use here in India…
(I don’t know if it is obsolete )

Well U need to understand Ethernet
packet details. And read data sheet
on Various Ethernet controllers like
“Crystal LAN CS8900A” or “RTL8019AS”.
I’ll recommend 8900.

Also I guess U’ll need TCP/IP stack
(U have not mentioned what U’r doing)
look for Seiko S7600 (H/W TCP/IP
stack).
