I'm sick and tired of trying to develop programs with this funny RCHPSIM. I need a proposition for a development system with the following features:
1. contains an assembler and a emulator;
2. works under DOS (or Windows 3.1 / Windows 95);
3. has no bugs ;-)
4. not too expensive (freeware?).
My superiors prefer C to assembly, and probably haven't discovered these problems with RCHPSIM I described here before a couple of days.

It is slightly off-topic, but… I have been testing MPLAB, an emulator (and much more than just an emulator) for PICs. That's what I'm looking for when thinking of the 8051 assembly. What is your suggestion?
