To avoid one shot in the foot, I would use an 8 bit counter clocked by the clock and clock disable by counter bit 7. let counter bit 7 be the interrupt input and connect the interrupt source to the reset pin of the counter. This will generate a low of 128 clock cycles after the clock starts.
