#18818 - Metal Case oscillator need big current ! |
In comparison to the 8051 the current consumption grow big.
Especially old TTL oscillators get really hot. So oscillators should only be used, if the clock was needed on many devices. Or if you micro should run on a frequency outside the typical working range (1..24Mhz). About the initial accuracy, there is no big difference vs. a crystal. Peter |
